The Manosphere – The Righteous Flight of the Sons from Castration by the Death Mother
The Manosphere: In an age when all true male role models are denounced as “toxic,” the young man stands before a painful question: To whom shall he orient himself? To the pale eunuchs that modern feminism and wokeism have left as the only permitted form of masculinity?
The Fall of Paternal Authority – The Defamed Male Role Models
The father has lost his natural authority in society. In doing so, he has not only uprooted himself but above all his sons. The young man rebels — and he is right to do so. For he does not want to become the sexless shadow held up to him as an ideal. He wants to be a man. He wants fertility, strength, direction, and depth.
The Flight into Digital Exile
Instead of real, incarnate fathers and wise elder brothers, he flees into the cold, impersonal realm of the internet — especially YouTube. There he finds visual stimuli that correspond to his masculine nature, yet he finds no living relationship. The Manosphere becomes the refuge of the outcast. It is demonized as “radical” and “dangerous” precisely because it is masculine.
The Manosphere – The Unconscious Counter-Strike
The more wokeism fights and suppresses so-called toxic masculinity, the more powerfully the counter-force stirs in the collective unconscious — exactly as Carl Gustav Jung described.
A conscious attitude or action inevitably generates an opposite force in the unconscious in order to maintain psychic balance. If we ignore this inner opposite, it often appears as external fate or as projection onto others. Carl Gustav Jung
The Vicious Circle of Collective Psychosis
Thus a dangerous vicious circle arises: The more violently the masculine is suppressed, the more wildly and untamed it breaks forth from the unconscious. The wounded woman, ridden by her own inner devil, suppresses the man even more fiercely — and at the same time senses the lurking danger that she herself has caused. She drives society from collective neurosis into collective psychosis.
The Collective and Personal Mother Complex of Our Time
The real problem of our epoch lies deeper: We men and women alike suffer from a collective and at the same time deeply personal mother complex. This complex has spread like a dark shadow over the entire culture. It is the hidden root from which almost all present confusions spring. It creates the feminized society that transforms itself into the Death Mother and nourishes the desperate flight of the sons.
The Death Mother as Collective Power
The feminized society itself has become the Death Mother. She is not merely an individual person, but a destructive archetypal force that reigns especially in the collective unconscious. She castrates men by declaring every healthy masculinity poison, by corroding every paternal authority, and by forcing sons into emotional dependence, infantilization, and psychic sterility. The more this feminized order rages against men, the more clearly it reveals its true face: that of the devouring, emasculating Death Mother.
The Poison of the Death Mother
The Death Mother administers a treacherous poison. It sterilizes the soul, paralyzes the libido — the divine life-force — and turns living men into passive, resigned shadows. This poison works both personally and collectively. It penetrates deep into the unconscious and causes fertility, courage, and true authority to wither. Today all men — especially the young — must consciously expel this poison. A radical detoxification is needed.
The Manosphere – Flight from Psychic Castration
The Manosphere is a desperate, crude, and awkward, yet justified attempt by young men to detoxify themselves. They rightly refuse to be castrated.
Without external help they seek in the digital realm what has been denied them in reality: a male initiation, a hard boundary, an order that frees them from the suffocating, emasculating embrace.
The youth must rebel. His rebellion is a sacred sign that the libido, the divine life-force, has not yet been extinguished in him. Only one who is still alive resists sterilization. Away with the eunuchs and castrates who have resigned and voluntarily allowed themselves to be emasculated! Better a rebellious, untamed youth than a living corpse who has betrayed his own masculinity.
Shadow Projection and the Accusation of Women
Of course every such statement is immediately branded as sexism. Yet it is a profound psychological fact: Shadow projection is particularly strongly developed in femininity in our time. What many women loudly accuse men of — oppression, toxicity, abuse of power, emotional coldness — is often exactly what they themselves do unconsciously. They project their own shadow onto the man and see in him the evil they do not wish to recognize in themselves.
The shadow we do not integrate is thrown onto others. Precisely because this happens unconsciously, it is so difficult to see and so fiercely defended. This is not victim-blaming, but the unflinching truth of the soul. Only those who bring their own shadow into the light can find true freedom and true encounter.
True Equality Beyond the Lie
The accusation of “hatred against women” is a lie. The man does not rebel against woman as such. He rebels against the devouring witch, against the great feminization that wants to castrate everything masculine. He rebels as woman once rebelled against the blind, tyrannical king.
True equality means recognizing that woman can be just as evil as man — only in a different way. While man tends more toward physical or sexual violence, woman often abuses psychologically and emotionally: through manipulation, emotional blackmail, and alienation of the children from the father. Both are destructive. Both must be named.
The Two Paths of Rebellion
Without wise, paternal guidance the young man’s rebellion becomes aimless and degenerates into mere machismo. Yet even that is still better than resigned castration.
The uncontrolled youth reacts to his psychic sterilization with blind physical violence. The youth raised by true men, however, reacts with wisdom. He does not fight against woman, but for fertility — for the sacred union of masculine and feminine, for Animus and Anima in balanced wholeness.
The Loss of the Bridge to the Unconscious – Single Mothers
At the same time the man loses his bridge to the unconscious — that bridge which would have passed through real, personal relationships, through the living Anima, through mother and sister, through the holy woman. Instead he becomes impersonal, digital, cold. It is especially tragic when boys grow up with single mothers and know no strong male reference persons. Then they lack not only the father in the house, but also the symbolic Father in Heaven — the archetypal images of religion, metaphysics, and sacred order.
Authentic Masculinity – Separation from the Literal and Symbolic Mother
The path to authentic masculinity requires separation from the literal and symbolic mother bond, while simultaneously avoiding the opposite error of completely rejecting the feminine. Jung considered this delicate balance—honoring the feminine while establishing male autonomy—essential for male psychological maturation. Few men achieve this, as they remain in constant reaction to the feminine instead of in relationship with it.
Traditional societies guided boys into manhood through initiation rituals—structured experiences—that facilitated psychological transformation through arduous instruction and communal recognition.
Modern society has abandoned these practices, leaving men helpless in their development, expected to become men without guidance in this profound inner transformation.
The result is generations of chronologically adult men who have never been properly initiated into mature masculinity. Initiation in traditional cultures was not merely ceremonial. It fulfilled important psychological functions. It separated boys from maternal influence, introduced them to male wisdom traditions, confronted them with their limitations through trials, and granted them recognition within the male community. All these elements facilitated the psychological transition from boyhood to manhood. Without them, men remain in a state of unclear identity.
Chronological Adults with Adolescent Psychology
The uninitiated man typically exhibits several telltale signs: He lacks firm boundaries, struggles with self-discipline, constantly seeks validation, competes inappropriately with other men, idealizes or demonizes women, and experiences chronic insecurity about his masculine identity. He may compensate for this through hypermasculine behavior or withdraw into passivity, but neither of these approaches resolves his underlying developmental gap. Despite his adult responsibilities, he remains psychologically adolescent.
This developmental stagnation has profound consequences. Uninitiated men often seek pseudo-initiations through destructive behavior, excessive risk-taking, substance abuse, violence, and sexual conquest. Others retreat into a perpetual state of adolescence, avoiding adult responsibility altogether. Neither path leads to authentic masculinity, which Jung understood as conscious initiation, not regression or compensation.
Modern men must create their own initiatory experiences, as society no longer provides them. This requires seeking out older, psychologically mature men as mentors who are willing to undergo oral examinations that challenge their own limits, studying male wisdom traditions, and finding male communities that support authentic development rather than reinforcing identification with the individual.
The uninitiated man must seek his own initiation
Without this conscious engagement with the initiatory process, men remain in a state of developmental inhibition. They function like adults, but they lack the psychological transformation that makes boys into men.
The greatest burden a child must bear is the unlived life of their parents. Uninformed fathers cannot initiate their sons and thus create generations of psychologically incomplete men who pass on their developmental gaps to their children.
The Only Path of Healing – The Antidote
Love Brothers and Sisters, this deadly poison can be neutralized only by one true antidote: the Father in Heaven. Only the conscious turning to the symbolic Father — God in Heaven — can accomplish the detoxification of the soul. Only through courageous awareness of the collective and personal mother complex and the return to the heavenly Father can the collective castration be halted. It leads through the restoration of healthy families in which fathers raise their children and do not merely supervise them. It leads through the courageous recognition of psychic depths, through the integration of the shadow in both man and woman.
Only when we once again honor the masculine and protect the feminine (return to courtly love), instead of distorting both, can the collective psychosis be healed. Only when the lost son returns to the Father — first to the earthly, then to the heavenly — will he become the wise king who does not oppress, but blesses.
The Sacred Marriage as Goal
The Manosphere is a symptom. The real evil is the denial of archetypal reality — above all the negative mother complex and the threatening castration by the Death Mother. If we heal the root through detoxification in the light of the Father, then the rebellious son will also find his way home again — not as a eunuch, not as a macho, but as a whole man who in love and truth may be united with the whole woman. The man who rules with wisdom.
Return to Wholeness
For in the end there stands not the battle of the sexes, but the sacred marriage — the union of Animus and Anima in the light of the Cross and the Resurrection. It is a dance of the sexes.
As long as you do not make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate. Carl Gustav Jung
May the Lord grant us the grace to undertake this turning with courage. Amen.
